Dear families,
We have had a positive, settled start to term four with students demonstrating they are ready to learn! Over the next week, all classes will be bringing home a termly overview which will explain what each class will be learning this term, as well as any special events and excursions that are planned. We are hoping this provides you with more information about what your child is learning as well as ways you might be able to support their learning at home. We would love to hear your feedback around these overviews.
The improvements to our school playground are continuing with a new basketball/netball court surface being installed next week. We are all very excited about having a safe, even surface for our students to use during playtimes and PE lessons. A reminder to everyone to please avoid this area while the works are taking place.
This term our prep, grade one and grade two students will again have the opportunity to participate in a week of water orientation sessions at Oceana. Students will be transported to and from Oceana by bus and the sessions will be run by qualified instructors. We are thrilled to be able to provide our students with such a wonderful opportunity to develop confidence and skills in the water.
Kind Regards
Rachael Wells

VOLUNTEERING IN THE SCHOOL AND ON EXCURSIONS
Volunteers/parents/guardians who work within the school or are asked to assist on excursions are required to have a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card.
Usually there is a cost involved, BUT....... if you click on the link below you can register at no cost. All you have to do is say yes when it asks if you are volunteering, then it will ask you where.... put in Risdon Vale Primary and underneath type in LIFT.
When it comes to the payment section, do not pay but print off the receipt and take it to Service Tasmania. When you go to Service Tasmania tell them that you are a LIFT parent and there should be no charge.
Also Jacqui Cruse has offered to assist anybody in the school to complete the registration form.
